PTSD TEST

PTSD is a long-form mental health disorder in which the symptoms of stress as a result of your trauma become a constant part of your life. Sometimes things happen to people that are unusually or especially frightening, horrible, or traumatic. For example:
  • a serious accident or fire
  • a physical or sexual assault or abuse
  • an earthquake or flood
  • a war
  • seeing someone be killed or seriously injured
  • having a loved one die through homicide or suicide

Have you ever experienced this kind of event? If yes, please take our PTSD Test below. If no, this test may not be relevant to you.

Did you know...

According to the National Center for PTSD, about 6 of every 100 people will have PTSD at some point in their lives.

Some people may recover within a few months following the traumatic event, but for others it may take years or long after the event occurs.

Please note: This quiz is meant to enhance your self-understanding and sense of well-being. It is not meant as a replacement for a clinical diagnosis or treatment, but instead spark some ideas for you to discuss with your provider in your upcoming sessions.

What are the treatment options for PTSD?

If you are experiencing symptoms of PTSD, it’s important to reach out to a mental health professional. This may also be a good idea shortly after experiencing a traumatic event, while you’re still wrestling with acute trauma. Through therapymedication, or a combination of both, you can learn coping skills to manage your distress and reduce the ways that your trauma may disrupt your life.
