Here are some experiences that seeking expert help can make a great difference in your quality of life:
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder
Are you experiencing irritability or low moods before your period? It can be very common to have changes in mood, stress tolerance, or even food cravings before and after your period. But if it’s interfering with what you want to do in your daily life, then it may be time to reach out. Our team can help you identify if a short term medication is needed, or help you reach a better understanding of your recurrent emotions, as well as help you cope with the hormonal changes each month.
Pregnancy Planning
Are you planning for pregnancy and feeling overwhelmed? Unsure about what psychiatric medication is safe to take during pregnancy and breastfeeding? Speaking with a specialist who has up to date knowledge is very important. It’s also a great time to establish treatment so that you have more support for when you become pregnant and post delivery. Our team can walk you through all the stages and be with you each step of the way.
Fertility Concerns
Pregnancy Loss
Birth Trauma
Perinatal & Postpartum
1 in 5 women will struggle with perinatal anxiety and/or depression. Therapy may or may not be enough. However, the messaging around medication can be very stigmatizing for pregnant and postpartum persons who choose to breastfeed. The decision to start or continue with medication is very personal and getting accurate information and individualized care is extremely important. The providers at Rivia Mind can help you determine the best course for you. We believe that you are the expert in you and our job is to provide you with the evidence and you ultimately decide what to put in your body.
Partners
Are you new to parenthood and struggling with this adjustment as well? Do you feel lonely and isolated or have trouble bonding with your new baby? Postpartum depression and anxiety can also present in partners, similar to how it does in women. This can result in difficulty functioning, adjusting to this new way of life and even relational/marriage conflicts. Our team is here to help you through this time and make the adjustment more enjoyable for partners as well.
Perimenopausal
Along with the physical symptoms, transitioning into a new phase of life comes with a variety of emotional challenges as well. Addressing these with a professional can help you navigate these changes with greater confidence.
