I am a registered nurse with a Master of Science in Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I have been practicing as a psychiatric nurse practitioner since July 2023 and as a registered nurse since 2014. I have experience working in an assisted living facility, with clients ranging from the ages of 18 to 85, providing treatment for mental health and substance use disorders.
Most of my experience relates to treating symptoms of trauma and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I have provided counseling and medication management for clients with complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD), including individualized treatment plans based on where the client was in their therapeutic process, mental and emotional stability, and cognitive status. I also have experience helping patients with ADHD in an outpatient clinic, especially those who had gone without treatment for much of their lives and were impacted by trauma.
My experience with ADHD stems from years of learning about the impact the disorder can have on one’s entire life trajectory, as well as an understanding of the stigma that prevents individuals from seeking treatment. By working with the patient to determine appropriate starting points for treatment, I have been able to offer education, diagnosis, multimodal treatment plans, and medication management to support these patients.
Every patient deserves to live a life where they feel present, connected, and fulfilled. Trauma can make that difficult, leaving individuals in a state of survival where they exist to merely exist rather than truly live. I help clients find their way out of that survival mode. I offer my clients a safe, non-judgmental space where I provide holistic care with accuracy and integrity. I believe that every person has a right to be seen as someone worthy of compassion and acceptance without stipulation.
