Marissa Miuccio,

Student Nurse Practitioner

, BSN

I’m currently pursuing my nurse practitioner degree at NYU and am passionate about supporting others through meaningful, empathetic care. I began my career as a registered nurse and am now training to provide more advanced and whole-person support — a natural progression in nursing that builds on direct clinical experience.

At NYU Langone, I worked as a nurse in both a fast-paced medicine unit and interventional radiology. In the medicine unit, I cared for people from all walks of life, offering both physical treatment and emotional reassurance during vulnerable times. A strong sense of collaboration with my colleagues helped us navigate even the most challenging days. In radiology, I partnered closely with doctors, techs, and fellow nurses, creating a team dynamic that patients often noticed and appreciated.

Over time, I’ve had the privilege of helping clients manage eating disorders, substance use, schizophrenia, anxiety, and depression. While much of my background has focused on physical recovery, it became clear just how deeply emotional well-being impacts healing. That understanding has shaped how I approach each person — as a whole human being with a unique set of interconnected experiences.

Caring for people in New York City has allowed me to connect with a wide spectrum of clients, from young adults to older adults, across all backgrounds. One constant I’ve seen is that mental wellness affects everyone, and no one should feel ashamed to seek help. I’m committed to spreading mental health awareness and reducing stigma by fostering a space where people feel safe, respected, and heard.

Why Work with Me?

I believe that meaningful care begins with connection. My approach centers on respect, curiosity, and empathy, while considering the many factors that shape mental health — from biology to lived experience. I strive to create a warm, trustworthy environment where clients feel empowered to explore what’s really going on and move forward at their own pace.
