I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner who has experience treating anxiety, depression, insomnia and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
I specialize in working with both adults and young adults who deal with anxiety and chronic stress. I believe in a whole-body approach to treatment within a supportive environment. I use dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) with an emphasis on the health promotion model to focus on increasing self-efficacy. I encourage focus on the strengths of my patients while incorporating a conservative approach to medication management.
I use a practical approach in sessions. I believe in meeting patients where they are and helping them realize their positive habits, practices and characteristics that can help them in their journey toward improved mental health. I value building strong relationships with my patients and am committed to understanding their individual needs, concerns, background, and what brought them to care.
I take pride in helping my patients understand and incorporate behavioral modifications that can bring about stable mental health. In sessions with patients, I place great importance on reviewing exercise, nutrition, social activities, professional goals, family life and personal growth. I firmly advocate that sustained mental health is more about consistently applying positive habits and practices in one’s daily life.
