I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner with experience in perinatal psychiatry, the struggles of early parenthood, body image work and women’s health issues. I previously worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, providing education and emotional support to cancer patients through diagnosis and maintenance. I also worked at Montefiore Children’s Hospital, supporting and educating families through a variety of medical diagnoses.
I am passionate about creating a safe space for people to explore their feelings, issues and values, as well as offering unconditional positive regard and normalizing and validating mental health struggles and treatments. I believe strongly in reducing mental health stigma in individuals and their families.
My therapy sessions are a safe space to share and be heard, with emotional safety and honesty that are foundational to any greater work that could be done. My hope for patients is that they integrate their values and goals into their lives and have grace, patience and self-compassion toward themselves on the journey to this goal.
I believe that the patients are the experts on themselves and that it is my job to create safety and offer reflection and resources as needed. I support patients in what is revealed to be their goals at the start of and through treatment. Safety, both physical and emotional, is the base for all positive and meaningful care and change.
