I am a licensed and certified social worker and therapist. I have worked with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for most of my career, though I also intersperse other techniques and modalities such as solutions-focused therapy, interpersonal therapy (IPT), narrative therapies, and motivational interviewing.
In my previous roles in the mental healthcare space, I worked in a hospital setting as a first responder for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. There, I was able to see the incredible resilience of people as well as the impacts of therapy and support that can be life-changing. I have worked with populations who have experienced violence and trauma, as well as the LGBTQ+ community and those facing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and relationship challenges.
I am most passionate about working with people who are motivated and driven to make healthy changes in their lives. I love to see the successes of my clients and act with unconditional positive regard for them as they achieve their objectives and goals. In therapy, I have a straightforward personality while engaging in empathy and compassion for clients. My goal is to work with clients to make session spaces safe, team oriented and non-judgmental. I work to collaborate with clients on tools and techniques so that they can make healthy changes in their lives and meet their goals.
