I am a therapist with experience treating mood disorders, stress, relationship struggles, chronic illness, addiction and trauma. I also have experience providing LGBTQ+-affirming care.
My past experience was with community-based and outpatient mental health programs, where I developed my clinical skills while working with a broad range of clients. I have also previously run a support group for adults navigating chronic illnesses. This group utilized a combination of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and emotional processing to feel connected with others in the group. Other modalities I draw from include psychodynamic theory, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness.
I am passionate about accessibility to quality mental healthcare. Working at a group practice that accepts most insurances allows more people to access the treatment they need. I have worked with young adults, the LGBTQ+ community, artists and people struggling with addiction.
I encourage patients to recognize the therapist-client relationship as vital to successfully reaching their goals. Rapport is important, so I try to ensure patients feel a positive connection during sessions. My approach to therapy is person-centered and collaborative, using a supportive and exploratory framework. By integrating several modalities, I provide a space where patients can feel safe and comfortable and begin reaching their goals.
