I am a therapist with experience treating eating disorders and borderline personality disorder. I previously interned at Marilyn and Sheldon David IVDU Upper Boys School, a high school for Orthodox Jewish young men with developmental disabilities in Brooklyn, New York, and Bleuler Psychotherapy Center, an outpatient mental health clinic for children, adolescents and adults. At IVDU, I learned to approach working with kids and engage with them in treatment. At Bleuler, I learned how to work with high-risk clients and continue to assess them to keep them safe.
I have experience using dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help patients develop more positive emotion regulation skills and challenge disordered thoughts. I have led two DBT groups through Rivia Mind and find it an incredible modality to use across the board. I also use CBT to help patients develop healthier thought patterns.
I am passionate about developing meaningful connections with clients to help them meet their goals. I work to develop a solid rapport with clients to help them get the best treatment possible so they can succeed. I have worked primarily with adolescents and young adults. I take a strengths-based and client-centered approach to create a comfortable, nurturing and safe environment to develop a solid patient-provider relationship. My hope is for them to develop positive coping skills as well as reach their therapeutic goals.
