I am a licensed clinical social worker with over two decades of experience. I have worked at several outpatient mental health clinics, getting to know patients and having the privilege of participating in their recovery. I have worked with older adults in the past, as well as grieving patients. One thing that I help them get past is the sense of self-judgment that they should “have it all together” by a certain age or “be over it” by a certain point.
I have training and experience with dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), especially for treating personality disorders such as borderline personality disorder (BPD). When working with clients diagnosed with BPD, I often offer psychoeducation on DBT, incorporating and reinforcing skills as much as the client is receptive.
I believe that everyone has the potential to obtain a life worth living with a combination of hard work and therapy, as well as medication in appropriate cases. I believe that psychotherapy has the potential to transform lives and hope for this for all of my patients. I am most passionate about working with older adults and geriatric clients. I treat each patient as an individual and meet them where they are with a sense of deep caring and tailored, evidence-based treatment.
