As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I take a holistic approach that blends my Eastern background with Western clinical training to provide care that’s empathetic, collaborative, and evidence-based. My treatment plans often combine lifestyle modifications, organizational strategies, and psychopharmacology — all personalized to support individual goals. Depending on the concern, that might mean using mindfulness exercises to manage anxiety, applying tools like to-do lists or the Pomodoro technique for ADHD, or exploring new ways to view and navigate the workday to help prevent burnout.
Before joining Rivia Mind, I worked as a bedside stepdown nurse at NewYork-Presbyterian. In that setting, I saw firsthand how powerful it is when care teams work together — where each person’s perspective is valued, and meaningful change can happen quickly. That experience continues to shape my work today, where I partner closely with clients across age groups — including young adults — to understand their needs and build treatment plans that reflect their lives.
In sessions, I often explore how mental health and work are connected, especially when burnout is present. We might look at routines that mark the transition out of work mode, set clearer boundaries, or find small, meaningful ways to reframe the workday. I also encourage clients to reconnect with interests outside of work — something I value in my own life, whether that’s playing pickleball or trying to beat my best time on the New York Times mini crossword. Above all, I believe mental health is a journey that looks different for everyone — and that taking the first step forward can lead to a higher quality of life.
