I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner who has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I was a psychiatric registered nurse in the inpatient psychiatry unit at NYU Langone for five years, where I had experience working with medication optimization, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), and the therapeutic milieu.
I have experience working with patients with diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and borderline personality disorder (BPD).
I am passionate about empowering patients with the knowledge that they are capable of change. It is important to instill any glimmer of hope that things could be better or different. I have worked with a number of young adults and geriatric patients. I hope that patients will find me easy to talk to, nonjudgmental and dependable.
Sometimes, when life gets difficult, we need a little more help and support to get through tough times. My approach to care involves hearing patients’ stories and trying to get a big picture of them as people. From there, I provide non-pharmacological recommendations and discuss potential medication management. I am always willing to hear the patient’s concerns and try to work with them to find the best treatment plan.
