I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner treating mood and personality disorders, as well as trauma and psychotic disorders. I have been a psychiatric nurse since 2004 and have worked in a variety of hospitals, caring for patients with different age ranges.
I have experience treating young adults, adults and seniors with various mental illnesses, including generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, substance use disorders, schizophrenia, psychotic disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), neurocognitive disorders and personality disorders. In my inpatient work, I often treat complex cases and have experience with multiple pharmacological interventions, including long-acting injectables and treatment modalities such as electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).
Since school, I have been passionate about working in psychiatric nursing due to the ongoing stigma in the field. My motivations are rooted in skills I obtained from exceptional training in India and my work history in the United States. I enjoy helping patients, involving family/support systems in recovery, and taking a whole-person approach to enhance overall well-being. I believe the therapeutic alliance is essential for the patient’s participation in treatment plans.
I provide a supportive and tailored approach to treatment based on my patients’ needs and interests while also considering physical and psychological concerns. I believe in forming a therapeutic alliance with patients as part of the treatment goals. I provide compassionate care and include family or support networks as much as possible.
