My approach to care is collaborative, warm, open, and honest. I believe each person already holds the strength and resources to meet their needs and create meaningful change. My role is to help them access those strengths in ways that feel affirming — extending a kind hand as we walk together on the path towards healing and growth.
Before joining Rivia Mind, I worked at KIP Therapy, a private practice specializing in psychodynamic treatment with a focus on LGBTQ+ mental health. There, I partnered with queer and transgender clients in long-term, individual care, supporting them as they explored and embraced every facet of their identity. As a queer and trans clinician myself, I know the importance of providing a safe and collaborative space for self-discovery. Witnessing patients grow and self-actualize has been humbling and deeply meaningful.
I have experience treating depression, anxiety, and gender dysphoria, drawing from psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), somatic therapy, and mindfulness. My work often involves helping patients identify root causes of negative self-talk and unhelpful patterns, then developing accessible coping skills to navigate their emotional landscape. In supporting those who experience gender dysphoria, I’ve found that somatic therapy can be especially valuable in tolerating and processing discomfort.
In sessions, I integrate multiple approaches to address both mind and body. Psychodynamic work helps bring unconscious processes into awareness, often by exploring early adverse experiences. CBT then offers a way to examine how those patterns show up in the present and to shift toward more self-compassionate thinking. Somatic techniques help people understand and release the emotions stored in their bodies, deepening insight into how feelings can shape mental and physical well-being.
