I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner with experience treating a variety of mental health disorders. I’ve had success treating patients with bipolar spectrum disorders and other mood disorders, such as depressive and anxiety disorders, sleep disorders and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
I recently worked at the Child Center of New York for almost two years where I had the opportunity to work with diverse populations and cultures, providing culturally competent care. I also worked at NYU Langone Hospital for almost seven years, where I provided mental health services from the psychiatric emergency department to both the inpatient and outpatient clinics.
I have also worked extensively with young adults within school based systems, and served the LGBTQ+ population as a provider for the Brooklyn Pride Community Center. Additionally, I have supported individuals with autism through my work at On Your Mark.
I use an eclectic approach to care, treating clients based on their diagnoses and needs. I have experience with various psychotherapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy. The most important modality I have learned is the therapeutic rapport I am able to build with my clients. My philosophy is to provide patient-centered care tailored to the individual needs and preferences of the client. Psychiatry is never a one-size-fits-all approach.
I truly believe that mental health is at the center of our overall health and well-being. I am passionate about helping clients restore and maintain their mental health to lead meaningful lives, whether that consists of psychotherapeutic or pharmacological interventions — or even a combination of both. My goal is to empower my clients to lead fulfilling lives by equipping them with the tools they need to overcome challenges and break through barriers, enabling them to reach their full potential.
