Clinician Spotlight: Alexandra “Lexi” Campbell, LMSW

Clinician Spotlight: Lexi Campbell

In today’s Clinician Spotlight, we’re pleased to introduce Alexandra “Lexi” Campbell, LMSW, a therapist who specializes in supporting the neurodiverse community. Lexi’s work centers on honoring the natural variations in how people think, feel, and experience the world, including individuals with autism, ADHD, AuDHD, learning differences, and other neurodivergent identities.

With clinical experience across private outpatient practice, community-based services, and crisis hotline support, Lexi brings a compassionate, grounded presence to her work. She is deeply committed to creating a therapeutic space where individuals feel understood, respected, and supported in both moments of challenge and long-term growth.

Specialty & Approach to Therapy

Lexi specializes in working with neurodivergent individuals, recognizing neurodiversity as a natural and valuable variation in brain functioning shaped by sensory, cognitive, social, and neurological differences. She understands that neurodivergent individuals often face unique challenges navigating systems and expectations that are not designed with their needs in mind.

Her therapeutic approach is person-centered, compassionate, and pragmatic, ensuring sessions feel responsive, useful, and tailored to each individual’s goals. Lexi draws from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), somatic-based interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and neurodivergent-affirming care. Rather than applying a fixed framework, she collaborates closely with each patient to create an adaptable therapeutic experience that respects their unique way of thinking and being.

Advice for Those Seeking Mental Health Care

For individuals seeking mental health support for the first time, Lexi encourages them to recognize their inner strength and courage. Beginning therapy can feel unfamiliar or intimidating, and showing up, even without knowing exactly what to expect, is an important and admirable step.

When choosing a mental health provider, Lexi likens the process to finding the right pair of shoes. It may take time, exploration, and patience to find the right fit, and that process is completely normal. A strong therapeutic match is built on comfort, trust, and alignment, and it’s okay to keep exploring until that connection feels right.

Finding Balance Through Self-Care

Outside of her clinical work, Lexi enjoys creative outlets that help her recharge and stay grounded. She is a longtime photographer and passionate baker, and she enjoys learning new creative hobbies such as knitting, crochet, and flower arranging. Lexi is also an avid yoga practitioner, using movement and mindfulness as part of her own self-care routine.
