Rivia Mind News of May

May 2024 Newsletter

This month, Rivia Mind shined a spotlight on mental health awareness, reducing stigma, and helping our community reach out for mental health support when they needed it. Well…technically, we do that every month. But since May is Mental Health Awareness Month, as well as Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month, we decided to step things up this month. We created new quizzes, welcomed new clinicians, and offered resources for our community.

So let’s get into everything Rivia has done this month so far.

Mental Health Awareness Month

The conversations around mental health have changed drastically in recent years, primarily as the general public learns more about mental health awareness instead of simply believing stigma and misconceptions. That’s what Mental Health Awareness Month is all about: sharing information, and simply being more aware and mindful of your own mental health. This month, Rivia Mind put together some resources for mental health awareness monthto help those who need it.

This is also Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month, highlighting post- and peri-partum mental health issues. According to the CDC, 50% of women with postpartum depression are undiagnosed. The more awareness can be raised, the more easily individuals with postpartum depression can get the care they need. To that end, we also created resources for maternal mental health this month.

Do You Have Anxiety?

Anxiety disorders are among the most common mental health disorders, with over 40 million adults in the United States meeting the criteria for at least one anxiety disorder. In such a high stress world, the signs of anxiety may be easy to miss. You may simply feel that it’s normal to be stressed all the time or that you don’t have it “as bad” as others. But until you can recognize anxiety in yourself, you can’t reach out for help.

If you’ve ever wondered whether you might have anxiety, take our new quiz: Do You Have Anxiety? Then reach out to one of our providers to take the next steps.
